Hello my lovely readers! Once again, it is SUNDAY, and that means it's time to think about what is making us happy this week. I have a few things: surprise phone calls from old college friends, snarking on bad movies with online friends, surprise money from my old apartment (they apparently decided to refund my last month's rent as well as my security deposit? I'm not complaining!), and exciting things happening in my work (we're going to Vietnam next year! Vietnam, you guys!).
But what's mostly making me happy this week is, well, food. Specifically, Halloween candy.
Yes, it's October, and that means candy and lots of it. Despite my lactose intolerance, I loved Halloween candy. Unfortunately, because of my intolerance, I can only eat so much of the milk chocolates and candy bars. So I turn to a Halloween standard that only appears during these few months: candy corn.
I know, I know, some of you think it's disgusting, but in my adult years, I've developed a new appreciation for this cavity-inducing sugar rush. I now have a bowl of candy corn sitting by my desk at work, and it's a good little boost to the blood sugar in the afternoons when work gets slow.
So those little kernels of sugar are what is making me happy this week. How about the rest of you?
