Happy Monday, everyone!
I was unfortunately ill this last weekend, which prevented me from getting the work done that I'd had planned for the blog. Working at a daycare, like I mentioned on Friday, has its downsides.
Tomorrow is Bi Visibility Day, so be sure to tune in on Twitter, where I'll be tweeting links about bisexuality visibility and biphobia. I'll also have a post here on the blog about my (limited) experience as an out bisexual over the past year.
Last week, basically on a whim, I made this teeshirt on teespring, a fundraising tool. The text reads "I Kissed Patriarchy Goodbye," a nod to the ever popular Joshua Harris book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye. Proceeds will go to help pay my hosting costs for the next few months.
And last! It's also Banned Books Week, one of my favorite times of the year. This year, in celebration, the Ask Away Wednesday theme will be anything related to censorship, free speech, literature, etc. That's a bit of a departure for the blog space, but for me, an important part of feminist praxis is understanding the issues of censorship and art that we encounter. And a large part of purity culture is focused on creating censorship around various kinds of "challenging" art - or simply nudity in art. So in preparation, you can head over to my Tumblr and ask away!
Thanks for standing by and we'll see you tomorrow for Bi Visibility Day!
